Nostalgic rides in 2015
The Tanvald Railway association has organise Nostalgic rides on rack and pinion railway or surrounding railroads for you every year. The year 2015 won’t be the exception – you can especially look forward to rare rack and pinion locomotives or accompanying programe in Kořenov.
The special trains on our steepest line (Tanvald - Kořenov – Harrachov) will be pulled by one of two preserved unique Class T426.0 rack and pinion locomotives, known as “Austrians”. The trains will include Balm passenger carriages from the 1960s, a historical M240.056 motor coach known as a “Singer” and a Balm Bistro buffet car.
Against previous year, the train will end in Kořenov. An operation restriction on railway is planned since 1st April to 31st October 2015 between Kořenov to Harrachov, which will be used for example to renovate Harrachov tunnel and assemble Harrachov passing bay.
An interesting accompanying program has been also prepared at the station in Kořenov, as every year – an ample refreshment, The Museum of Rack and Pinion Railway will be opened and a historical draisine or the narrow gauge mine railway will also be in operation. A historical bus will take you to Jizerka and Příchovice.
